Huron Updates Tourism Promotion Plans

Huron County has taken a new direction in its efforts to promote tourism in the county.

Communications and Marketing Coordinator Scott Currie says the new strategy focuses on the assets that Huron County has from natural heritage to things like beaches and trails, a vibrant arts community as well as cultural heritage and experiences.

Currie says the county continues to value the Ontario's West Coast branding as a very powerful tool for attracting visitors and will promote it extensively.

He adds the county will also host workshops to help tourism operators manage their own presence effectively, teach them how to adapt their Google listing, how to manage Facebook effectively, the importance of Tripadvisor and how to manage the content there.

Currie sums up the strategy is an invitation to work with communities to develop destinations.
