Bruce Power Community Engagement Session For Licence Extension Efforts

Bruce Power will hold additional Community Engagement sessions as part of licence renewal efforts.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission will hold hearings starting in March.

Vice President of Corporate Affairs James Scongack says Bruce Power will present its case to the CNSC for a licence extension that will allow the Life Extension Program to proceed over the next decade.

Residents can enjoy beef on a bun, and learn more about the hearings starting with an engagement session at the Plex in Port Elgin on Monday, January 22 and at Kincardine's Davidson Centre on January 23. Both run from 4pm until 8pm.

Bruce Power employees will be on hand to explain the process and answer questions.

People can also go online to find information and videos.

Plus 60,000 residents were mailed a summary of key issues and an opportunity for feedback in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties.

A poll will be conducted in February by Ipsos-Reid to measure public opinion on some of the issues.

People should RSVP to rsvp@brucepower.com or call 519-361-7777 by January 19.

A webinar on Bruce Power’s Licence Renewal process will be held on Wednesday, January 31, from 9am-10am. Attendees must register via the link at www.brucepower.com/licencerenewal2018.
