UPDATE: Three Dead in Bruce Peninsula Crash

Updated August 28 at 2:15pm:

Police have released the names of the people that were in a Dodge Charger at the time of a two vehicle crash on Hwy. 6 on the Bruce Peninsula Saturday night.

The driver, Jim Johny, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene and was from Mississauga.

There were four passengers in the car. Shovani Pathak, 42, of Brampton; Sheen Varma, 31, of Brampton; Arun Sadana, 24, of Mississauga; and Ravinder Kalsi, 39, of Brampton.

Kalsi is listed in critical condition in hospital.

The other vehicle involved was and SUV and both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene but police have not released names pending identification and notification of next-of-kin.

The investigation is still on-going.

From August 27 at 7:18pm:

Three people died and four others were injured in a crash on the Bruce Peninsula.

Ontario Provincial Police say just before 8pm Saturday a private passenger vehicle was traveling erratically southbound Hwy 6 when the driver collided head-on with an SUV traveling northbound.   The impact resulted in the SUV catching fire.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.   The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 30-year-old Mississauga man, was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries.

All four passengers in the passenger vehicle suffered injuries.   An adult male and female passenger suffered serious injuries while another female passenger had non-life threatening injuries.

A 39-year-old male passenger was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Hwy. 6 between Lindsay Rd 30 and Miller Lake Rd were closed for several hours Saturday night while investigators tried to determine how the collision occurred.

The names of those killed or injured in the crash are not being released while investigators notify family members.
