The chair of the Huron County Board of Health says merger talks with Perth County are moving forward.
Tyler Hessel says representatives of the Huron and Perth boards met with a consultant last week to review progress so far, and make sure the expectations on both sides lined up.
Hessel says the ultimate goal of the merger is improved service for both Huron and Perth residents, but adds finances will be a factor.
Hessel explains they will have to present the ministry with a viable business plan in order to move forward.
Hessel says a report from the consultant is expected at the end of March.
