The Kincardine Community fund has grown to over $22,000 with just a few thousand more needed to meet the granting threshold.
The fund needs to hit $25,000 to have enough endowed monies to begin granting to local not for profit groups.
The committee has now challenged the community for 50 people groups or business to donate $50 each to bring in the extra $2,500 needed so granting can being in the spring.
The grants would be available from the earned interest off the Fund, and would be expected to be between $200 and $500 through the first year.
The Community Foundation Grey Bruce offered to match up to $10,000 in donations in 2016.
Fundraisers over the year included direct mail, the Marine Heritage Cardboard Boat Race and a touch a truck mini event.
