Bruce Power Continues Impressive Run at High Power

Not only does Bruce Power continue to deliver clean, reliable and safe energy to a good chunk of the province, but the world's largest nuclear generating facility continues to impress.

MP Kim Rudd, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources, had a tour of the facility on Wednesday and had a chance to see up close and personal all eight units running at high power.

“It is truly impressive to see the pride employees of Bruce Power show in delivering clean, reliable power to Ontario families and businesses,” said Rudd, who is Member of Parliament (MP) for Northumberland-Peterborough South. “Our government recognizes the role nuclear plays in helping us achieve our climate change goals, while keeping the economy strong. Visiting the world’s largest operating nuclear generating facility and meeting with the Bruce Power team was a real privilege.”

MP Rudd called the visit a real privilege and commended staff in the Bruce B Control Room for a record setting run with Unit 7 which just beat its previous record of operating 465 days in a row and is now sitting at 478 days and counting.
