Hundreds of cyclists are set to hit the pavement Sunday to raise mental health awareness.
The Canadian Mental Health Association's Annual Ride Don't Hide event gets under way right across the country, including here in Midwestern Ontario.
Ride Don't Hide kicks off at 7am at Kelso Beach Park in Owen Sound in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey-Bruce.
Fundraising and Event coordinator, April Robinson, says the turnout last year was great and this year she's hopeful that people will come out and support the cause.
"Ride Don't Hide is an opportunity for people to come out, bring awareness to mental health and help raise the critical funds needed for community programs and services in our Grey-Bruce area. Last year we had three hundred riders come out and we're hoping for approximately 250 to 300 again tis year," says Robinson.
Participants can choose between a 1.5 km, 25 km, 50 km and 80 km ride.
The event is just one of many across the country and this year's national fundraising goal is $1.5-million.
