Short Chase In Grey County Leads To Slew Of Charges

Two people face multiple charges after a short chase in the Chatsworth and West Grey areas.

Early Tuesday morning, OPP responded to a call about a stolen pick-up truck from a home on Grey Rd 3. While investigating that call, police found an abandoned car with the keys still inside. That car had been reported stolen as well.

A short time later, another pick-up was spotted being driven recklessly through a farmer's field on the Dutch Ln in West Grey. The vehicle continued travelling through several fields before getting stuck at the rear of a property on Hwy 6. A female suspect associated to the stolen truck was arrested at the scene.

A second suspect had fled the scene on a stolen ATV but eventually abandoned that and fled on foot.

That male suspect was apprehended while attempting to break into a property on Concession 4 back in the Township of Chatsworth.

Jason Hogg, 20, of Cargill is charged with seven counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000, three counts of Theft Under $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle, Obstruct Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence, Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, and Possession of Break-In Instruments.

Christine Nelson, 31, of West Grey is charged with five counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 and two counts of Theft Under $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
