Man Arrested In Crime Spree From Clinton To Saltford

A 25-year-old Central Huron man is facing charges after someone stole a truck in Clinton, broke into a home on Bluewater Veteran's Hwy., and then stole another vehicle.

Police say a crime spree started with the theft of a 2005 Ford F-150 from a business on Huron St. Tuesday morning in Clinton. That truck was found at a property on Bluewater Vetaran's Hwy., where a case of beer and a Plymouth sedan were stolen.

Witnesses saw the Plymouth tear up several front lawns on Westmount Line, before heading to a Saltford Rd. property, where the damaged vehicle was abandoned.

Police were called about a possible impaired driver, and found a man walking toward the Maitland River with a case of beer.

A 25-year-old Central Huron man is in custody facing eight charges, and a court appearance April 29 in Goderich.

The man faces the following charges: -Theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000 - two counts -Break and enter dwelling house to commit theft -Impaired driving -Refusing to provide a breath sample -Driving while disqualified -Driving while under suspension -Mischief under $5,000 – four counts -Failing to comply with a probation order – two counts

He remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for April 29, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
