Saugeen Shores Seeking Public Support In Community Spring Cleanup

With Spring finally here and nicer weather settling into the region, the Town of Saugeen Shores will be holding their annual Spring clean-up next week.

Beginning on Sunday, April 17, residents and business owners are encouraged to get outside at some point during the week and pitch in to clean-up the community; and every little bit certainly helps.

Laura McKenna, marketing and programs coordinator for the Town of Saugeen Shores, says anyone and everyone can sign up to do their own clean-up.

"If you sign up through the town here, we will provide a pitch-in kit so we will provide garbage bags, recycling bags and gloves as well as some tracking measures so tat you can track how much garbage you picked up at your location and then we'll come and pick up those bags later," says McKenna.

McKenna adds they're really trying to encourage the public to come out on Saturday, April 23 for the River Access Cleanup, Port Elgin Beach Cleanup and Southampton Beach Cleanup.

Spring Cleaning Week runs from April 17-23.
