Spinrite Donation Benefits North Perth Children

One of Listowel's largest employers has given a significant financial boost to the Municipality of North Perth and the future of the community.

An agreement was signed between Spinrite and the Municipality of North Perth Wednesday night to officially name a new daycare centre currently being built in Listowel.

The new North Perth Spinrite Child & Family Centre will receive a donation of $50,000 from Spinrite to go toward construction, and an additional $50,000 over ten years.

"We think that our contribution to this daycare facility will certainly strengthen the important pillar of early childhood education which is important ot not only our existing employees but it's also important to attract future employees," says Spinrite President Ryan Newell.

North Perth Mayor Julie Behrns says the donation and commitment of $100,000 toward the daycare centre demonstrates overwhelming support for the community.

"As I mentioned in front of council tonight, Spinrite raises the bar for all of the other corporate involvements in our community to be engaged and get involved," says Behrns.

The North Perth Spinrite Child & Family Centre will be able to reach out to more families - ten infant families and eight more pre-school children - for a total of eighteen more families added to the daycare's services.

Daycare Manager April Helmka says there will even be a space within the centre that provides services like speech pathology for families and children.

"It will help children get that first great foundation and the best start for their future," says Helmka.

The North Perth Spinrite Child & Family Centre is set to open its doors on September 4, 2016.
