Thief Makes Off with Poppy Donation Box

Police  are seeking any information that may lead to a suspect after a Poppy Donation Box was stolen from the Broadway St. Tim Horton’s in Kincardine.

South Bruce OPP says it happened late afternoon on November 12 the day after Remembrance Day.

This type of a crime is "heinous, beyond the cost of replacing the donation box and whatever money was in it, there is a social cost here; the Legion is a huge supporter of the veterans and the community," says OPP Constable Kevin Martin, community services and media relations officer for the South Bruce OPP.

There is no estimated value of the theft at this time and police are looking for any information that may help them locate the person or persons responsible for this theft.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
