ETFO Moves To Phase 2 Of Work To Rule
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario is moving to phase two of a work to rule campaign.
President Sam Hammond announced the move today despite the union going back to the bargaining table September 1.
In a release, Hammond says there must be movement towards a fair collective bargaining agreement that respects teacher working conditions and student learning conditions.
Phase two of a work to rule would include not participating in field trips, collecting monies for school-related activities or participate in fundraising activities, or attend open houses or ‘Meet the Teacher” nights outside of the instructional day.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario represents 76,000 elementary public school teachers, occasional teachers and education professionals across the province.
