UPDATE: Infrastructure Funding For Local Hospitals

Updated Aug. 20 at 9 a.m.

Some local hospitals are getting provincial money to fix up roofs, ventilation systems, back-up generators and for projects needed to be done under the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Fire Code.

The money is coming from the province's Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.

Micahel Barrett is the CEO of the South West LHIN.

“Just as you invest in the maintenance and upkeep of your own home, investment in hospital infrastructure is key to ensuring that hospitals maintain their buildings and equipment to meet the demands of modern health care delivery," says Barrett. "We believe that these investments in hospitals across the South West LHIN will ensure people can continue to receive high quality care in facilities close to home.”

Here are what the following hospitals are receiving for the 2015-2016 fiscal year with the total funding over two years in brackets.

Clinton Public Hospital - $142,680 ($205,027 total)

Grey Bruce Health Services - $1,736,953 ($2,573,814)
