Marine Rail Museum Car To Slow Owen Sound Traffic

Owen Sound's Marine Rail Museum is moving an 85 foot long dining car through the city on Monday.

The Community Waterfront Heritage Centre bought the car recently and will add it to the attractions of the museum.

They're moving it from the west side outskirts of the city, down 10th street and around the corner to the museum on 1st Avenue West.

Maryann Thomas is a board member of the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre. She expects it will be quite a sight to see the car being moved.

"We're assuming that 10th street is going to be lined with people who want to see this epic maneuver, it's 85 feet long and I cannot visualize how it's going to get around that corner," said Thomas.

The dining car is expected to be moving down 10th street in Owen Sound between about 10AM and noon.

The car will be parked on the grounds of the Marine Rail Museum at the Owen Sound harbour.
