Brockton Councillors Accused Of Secret Meetings

According to Mayor David Inglis, Brockton Councillors have been holding secret meetings outside of Council Chambers.

At Monday night's meeting, Inglis addressed the rumours, saying he will talk to the two or three members involved.

"It's my job as Mayor is to deal with these sorts of things," Inglis told reporters after the address to Council, "I want Council to work as a team."

When asked if the Ontario Ombudsmen should be involved, Inglis said the meetings are more of a procedural concern.

“I don’t think so at this point, it’s just the working of Council and procedure,” Inglis told CKNX News, “We have procedural bylaws on how Councillors operate and that’s basically what this is about.”

Inglis did not say single out any councillors specifically.

Monday night's address from Inglis came after council elected to award a tender for the Municipality's new soccer complex.
