A Brockton resident fell victim to an email scam, and shared personal information with the fraudsters.
The OPP says the resident received an email appearing to be from the Canada Revenue Agency, asking for the information to process a refund.
However, the email was not actually from CRA.
The South Bruce OPP says modern scammer can create convincing schemes to steal your money or information, often claiming to represent a legitimate company, bank or government agency.
Police say you need to verify unsolicited email before responding.
