Still No Suspects In Grand Bend Hit And Run Fatal

OPP officers are still looking for a vehicle that hit and killed Jason Pearson of Waterloo near Grand Bend six years ago.

The 31-year-old was walking on the road just north of Grand Bend Motorplex on County Rd. 81 at 5am Sunday, July 26, 2009, when he was hit.

The motorist then left the scene. Another driver came upon the collision moments later and called for help.

Jason later died in hospital as a result of the injuries.

Police are looking for a vehicle of interest that is believed to have passed the scene. Police think the occupants of that vehicle may have information about the collision.

It's a dark extended cab pickup truck that was pulling a large enclosed trailer with dual wheels, last seen traveling north on Grand Bend Line (County Rd. 81) towards Grand Bend.

“The anniversary of Jason’s death brings to attention this case remains unsolved. I am hopeful that someone will share with us that piece of information that will help solve this case. Someone, somewhere knows what happened early that morning. I can’t urge you enough to make that call. This investigation remains ongoing and active. Our investigative team will continue to investigate any and all leads that may arise,” says Huron County OPP Detective Sergeant Mike McCabe.
