ABCA Gets Federal Funding For Water Quality

Huron-Bruce Conservative MP Ben Lobb has announced $105,000 in funding for the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.

The money will help improve water quality and ecosystem health in Lake Huron.

Ausable Bayfield Healthy Watershed Supervisor, Mari Veliz explains the Conservation Authority will work with community partners along the Southeast shore of Lake Huron as well as the Bruce Peninsula and Eastern Georgian Bay.

All will work with their community partners to leverage that grant into over $1-millions invested into Lake Huron water quality.

Veliz adds those projects will include things like education and outreach programs, improving soil health which also improves water quality and evaluation efforts which are important because it tells them if they're achieving their objectives with their projects.
