Owen Sound Police Look For Witnesses To Two Collisions

Police in Owen Sound are asking for anyone who witnessed either of two vehicle collisions that occurred Sunday in the city to contact the Police Service office.

Sunday morning just before 7:00, a yellow Dodge Neon entered off of 6th Street East into the parking lot of Vince’s Kwik Mart on 2nd Avenue East. In the wet conditions the Neon slide into the side of a pickup that was parked in the parking lot.

The driver quickly left without speaking with the other vehicle's owner or notifying the police. The driver is described as a middle age white male. The neon should have light to moderate damage to its front passenger side bumper. The vehicle is also described as having rust around the rear drivers’ side wheel well.

Around noon Sunday, there was a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 16th Street and 16th Avenue East. A silver Dodge Dakota pickup was travelling eastbound on 16th Street East as a black Jeep Patriot was travelling northbound on 16th Avenue East; the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

No one was hurt, but the two drivers gave conflicting stories as to why the accident occurred, and Owen Sound police are still looking for witnesses.
