Kincardine Resident Falls For Computer Repair Scam

South Bruce OPP is reminding residents to be wary of scams after the report of a successful scam from a resident in the Municipality of Kincardine.

Police say the victim fell for an unsolicited phone call reporting a problem with the computer.

The resident fell for the scam and is out $815 dollars for the 'repairs'.

South Bruce OPP is again asking all residents to be cautious of unsolicited calls, letters, emails, strangers at the door noting that fraud is a multi-million dollar enterprise.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
