Huron Ensures Economic Strategy Includes All Lower Tier Members

Huron County has enlisted the help of OMAFRA in creating an economic development strategy that includes all nine lower-tier municipalities.

CAO Brenda Orchard explains the newly-formed Huron County Economic Development Board is leading the way in creating an Economic Development Strategy for the county.

It was thought that it would be beneficial to include the lower-tier municipalities to avoid duplication.

Orchard says OMAFRA has a "train the trainers" program that they can use to bring municipalities up to date because some don't have economic development officers.

The training should be completed by the end of October at which point all nine lower-tier municipalities will be working with the county in a co-ordinated economic development strategy.
