Bruce Grey MP Miller Now Says He Will Join Debates

Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller has changed his mind and will participate in formal debates in the coming federal election campaign.

He'll attend two debates, one urban and one rural.

Miller had said he would not participate in formal debates, specifically the Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce debate because, he said, the traditional format didn't work.

But Miller has met with Chamber officials and has decided he will participate, mainly because they're televised.

"The fact that they're televised and people who are at home watching TV who couldn't get to the debate, that probably made me rethink it," said Miller.

When asked if he'd changed his mind because of public pressure and criticism, Miller said, "Absolutely not." He says the only people who were critical were those who wouldn't vote for him anyway.

Miller says he still thinks traditional debates are "useless" because most people who attend have already made up their minds who they're going to vote for.
