Meaford Flea Market Opening Successful

Meaford Museum’s first Flea Market, Saturday was a success despite a late morning downpour that sent everyone scurrying for shelter.

Because the booths were set up in tents and under canopies, customers had a dry place to stand when the rains began to fall late in the morning.

Nineteen vendors set up booths at Market Square in downtown Meaford selling various products including homemade soap, books, toys, kitchen utensils and other items. Most of the vendors came from the Meaford area, and some came from as far away as Wasaga Beach and Owen Sound.

The Market Square Flea Market continues every Saturday between 9:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m. until early October.

Museum coordinator Jody Seeley says she will use the $10 entry fee charged to vendors to pay for special programs and displays at the Museum.
