Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story is This Week

A Huron County committee is finalizing plans for this week's Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story.

Events include readings, book signings, presentations, and masterclasses with some of Canada’s most respected authors and literary figures.

Clinton and Bayfield will host 'Readings in the Country'.

The Festival’s popular Short Story Contest drew over 250 entries last year in the Adult and Youth categories. Finalists were from Ontario, B.C., P.E.I., New York, and South Korea.

The Short Story Contest awards will be presented at the Jubilee Gala at the Wingham Knights of Columbus Centre on Saturday, June 6th.

A full schedules of events and and ticket prices is available at www.alicemunrofestival.ca.

The Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story reaches across Huron County with the 'Readings in the County' series: Thursday June 4th at the Clinton Town Hall with Heather O’Neill; and Sunday June 7th at the Bayfield Town Hall with Lisa Moore, Caroline Adderson, and Merilyn Simonds.

Readings in the County are free, although guests must confirm their attendance through the Blyth Festival box office.
