South Bruce Peninsula has sold its share of the Wiarton-Keppel International Airport to Georgian Bluffs.
In a joint press release sent out on Tuesday, the SBP announced Georgian Bluffs has purchased their 50 per cent share of the airport for $600,000.
The purchase means Georgian Bluffs now has sole ownership of the airport.
The facility's future has been in doubt after both municipalities cut funding to the airstrip, which faces the need for several million dollar upgrades.

For a number of years and spanning many Council terms, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula and the Township of Georgian Bluffs have been investigating options with respect to the ownership of the Wiarton Keppel International Airport.Each municipality has its unique goals and objectives for the future of their respective communities.
It was determined early on in negotiations that regardless of the ownership outcome, both communities will benefit from any development of the airport which is achieved by one municipal owner.
Through successful and respectful negotiations, a sale of the airport to Georgian Bluffs has been reached. Georgian Bluffs will take ownership of the airport. The agreed upon purchase price is $600,000.
The Councils of Georgian Bluffs and South Bruce Peninsula encourage the community to embrace this change in ownership and show our collective community support for Georgian Bluffs as they move forward as the owners of the Wiarton Keppel International Airport.
