No Injuries As Float Plane Flips At Belwood Lake

No injuries today for a pilot when his float plane overturned on Belwood Lake in Centre Wellington Township.

Wellington County OPP along with firefighters from the Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene just after 3pm.

Police say 64-year-old Donald Reid McLeod from the Town of Erin was the lone occupant and operator of the Murphy Renegade float plane that overturned upon landing.

McLeod was uninjured and brought safely to shore by a canoeist.

The plane was partially submerged and arrangements were made to remove it.

Transportation Canada has been notified and will not be attending.
