Kincardine Meeting To Discuss Bruce Telecom

Another closed meeting to discuss the contentious Bruce Telecom sale is set for April 29th.

The company, owned by the municipality, thought it had a sale last year, but the federal Competition Bureau stopped the deal and left the two sides wondering what to do next.

Kincardine and the possible purchaser, Eastlink, sat down with the bureau and are attempting to work out a new deal.

Mayor Anne Eadie said recently talks were slow but she hoped to have a resolution to the issue before summer.

A municipal notice says Kincardine council will consider advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose.
