Owen Sound Hosts 'It's An Honour"

A travelling exhibit about the Canadian Honours System is making it's way toward Owen Sound.

It's called "It's An Honour". It showcases stories of Canadians who have been recognized for their extraordinary achievements with national honours such as the Order of Canada, and Decorations for Bravery and Military Valour.

The specially-designed tractor-trailer unit will visit schools, community centres, special events and small towns until July.

The exhibit will be parked at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre in Owen Sound on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17.

It's open to the public from 11am to 6pm.  Admission is free.

Visitors can catch a glimpse of insignia and medals, discover the unique stories of many honours recipients and watch a hologram message from former Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.

They exhibit also offers information on how to nominate deserving individuals from local communities for national honours.
