Unimmunized Patient Cleared Of Measles After Trip To Toronto Event

An unimmunized patient suspected of having measles has been cleared of the virus by the Grey-Bruce Public Health Unit.

The patient was one of the 29 people from Grey-Bruce who attended the "Acquire the Fire" event in Toronto, where a person with a confirmed case of measles was in attendance.

The health unit says of the 29 people, three were not immunized or did not receive the proper dosage of vaccine.

They have been asked to self-isolate themselves for the next 21 days as symptoms of measles begin seven to 21 days after exposure.

The last measles case in Grey-Bruce was in 1997.
