Perth Wellington's MPP Says The Liberals Have Been Caught

Perth Wellington's MPP says its a sad day for Ontario.

The Progressive Conservatives are demanding Premier Kathleen Wynne fire her deputy chief of staff and a Sudbury Liberal organizer.

This came after Elections Ontario concluded they may have contravened the bribery section of the Election Act.

Perth-Wellington Conservative Randy Pettapiece was not surprised.

"They have been caught, and we knew, from the tapes that were released, that they were in trouble, and they are in trouble. The tried to spin it every which way they could in the house and you know it got to be ridiculous after a while," says Pettapiece. "This is Elections Ontario, but also this is the third police investigation this government is going through right now. It's a sad day for Ontario. This is the first time Elections Ontario has ever done this, investigated this, in the history of our province."

A would-be Liberal candidate in last month's Sudbury by-election has accused Premier Wynne's deputy chief of staff and a local Liberal organizer of offering him a job or appointment to step aside for another candidate.

The OPP is also investigating.
