The Grey Bruce Health Unit is warning that some youth who attended the "Acquire the Fire " event in Toronto may be at risk for measles.
Measles has been confirmed in one of the participants in the event at the Queensway Cathedral on February 6 and 7.
Individuals who attended the event should review their immunization status to ensure they are protected.
If they are not immunized against measles, they should stay way from school and public gatherings.
Instead contact the Grey Bruce Health Unit Infectious Disease Program at 519-376-9420.
Symptoms of measles include at least one of: fever, cough, runny nose, inflammation of the eyes or rash.
If individuals who attended this event develop these signs and symptoms over the next two weeks they are advised to contact their primary care provider by phone and also the Grey Bruce Health Unit.
