Power restored as of 12pm

As of 8:45:

Hydro One is reporting outages have now stretched further east. Customers in Mildmay, Ayton and Neustadt are also without power.

Power has been restored to Wingham as of 8:05am.  But work is still being down to restore power to residents in Lucknow, Teeswater and Ripley.  Westario officials say that could be around 10am.

The feed of power to Westario from Hydro One was cut because of a transformer fire north of Tesswater earlier this morning.

That caused and outage for 2,000 Hydro One customers and Westario customers in the northern areas of Huron County and southern areas of Bruce County.

From 6:55am:

A transformer fire appears to be to blame for power outages in northern areas of Huron County and southern areas of Bruce County.

2,000 Hydro One customers are affected as well as Westario customers in Wingham, Lucknow, Teeswater and Ripley.

A transformer fire on Hwy. 4 between the 12th and 14th Concessions north of Teeswater is the cause, knocking out power at 6:20am.

Early estimated restoration time is currently 9:30am.
