Police Investigate Mischief Around Goderich

There have been a rash of mischief in Goderich over the last couple of weeks.

The Huron County OPP is looking into a half dozen cases of windows and vehicles being shot at and damaged by pellet and BB gun ammunition.

Here is a list of the reports:

  • January 15, a Blake St. E resident reported she found both of her vehicles in her laneway damaged with the rear tail lights shot
  • January 19, a St. Vincent St. resident reported his Subaru Imprezza was parked in his driveway when it had the rear window shot at and damaged
  • January 19 at 10:05pm, a First Student bus was travelling westbound on Huron Rd. close to the intersection of Britannia Rd. E. when it was shot at with a pellet gun
  • January 20 at approximately 4:40pm, the owner of a Chevrolet Impala parked his vehicle at the end of Cove Rd. and went for walk and when he returned a half hour later he discovered his driver’s side window had been smashed
  • January 21, a West St. resident reported a window at his house was shot at and damaged by a BB gun
  • January 24, a Britannia Rd. W resident reported to police someone shot a pellet through her front porch window causing about $150 in damage
No one was hurt but police say the crimes can carry significant penalties including fines and imprisonment upon conviction.
