Local Actor Nominated For Canadian Screen Awards

Listowel's Jared Keeso may be bringing home a Canadian Screen Award.

The local actor has been nominated for the Shaw Media Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role.

This nomination comes for his performance in the English adaptation of 19-2, a police drama surrounding the fictional lives of Montreal police officers.

Keeso has held a number of well known roles as of late. He played Don Cherry in the CBC biographical mini-series Keep Your Head up: The Don Cherry Story, a performance that earned him a Gemini award. He rose to internet fame from his role as a creator and actor in Leterkenny Problems, a satirical look at life in midwestern Ontario.

The Canadian Screen Awards are awards given annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television recognizing excellence in Canadian film, English-language television, and digital media productions. It is a result of a merger between the Gemini Awards and Genie Awards.
