Road Closures And Cancellations

Environment Canada issued a snow squall warning for Bruce and Grey counties on Thursday, while most of the region sits under an extreme cold warning.

Plows are out this morning, but it may take time to properly clear all the roads. Blowing snow is still going to be a problem for many motorists.

Because of poor visibility on the roads, Bruce Power is asking Category A staff to report for shift change this morning using alternate routes and subject to road closures. Category B and C staff are asked not to report to work today.

Employees are reminded to respect road closures and to monitor the Bruce Power Severe Weather website for updates.

Environment Canada has an extreme cold warning in effect for midwestern Ontario.
Very cold temperatures combined with strong northwesterly winds, will result in wind chill values near or below -30 C into this evening. However, wind chill values are expected to improve as winds weaken.
The national weather service puts out this type of warning  when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
