A routine traffic stop has led to weapons charges against a Palmerston man.
It happened last Friday about 5 p.m. when an OPP officer pulled over a vehicle on Daly Street near Brunswick Street in Palmerston.
After being questioned regarding drugs in the vehicle, the male driver surrendered a non-prescribed pill bottle containing methadone and he was placed under arrest.
During a search of the vehicle a metre-long homemade weapon made of wood, wire and screws and a black pistol BB gun in a holster that looked like a semi-automatic pistol were seized.
A 41-year-old of Palmerston has been charged with various weapons and drugs offences.
