Healthkick Huron Accepting Summer Job Applications

Healthkick Huron is now accepting applications for summer job placements from students planning careers in health care.

The Rural Health Work Placement program has been placing students since 2005, and this year they've been able to find placements for fifteen students.

Project Manager Laura Overholt explains the program is designed for students who have already decided they want a career in health care but are often not aware of the range of options in rural health care.

She adds the programs gives them a first-hand look at what rural health care is like as well as work experience with potential employers.

More information and the application form can be found on the healthkickhuron.ca web site. The deadline for applications is February 2nd.

Overholt adds aside from hands-on experience, the summer placement exposes the students to some of the administrative responsibilities attached to the job as well as gives them an opportunity to develop doctor – patient skills.
