Bruce Power Supports Food Banks

Food Banks and Christmas Hamper programs are getting a $57,000 boost from Bruce Power.

Bruce Power President and CEO Duncan Hawthorne says the annual holiday donation provides much needed funding for the non profit programs during the holiday season.

He says the important work the volunteer driven programs do in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties allows many people to give their families a special Christmas.

He says Bruce Power and its employees join a generous community in helping to fill the shelves of food banks, and buy gifts for under the tree.

He says the rising level of poverty has sparked an increase in the number of area food banks from 14 to 20.

“The need in our communities is great, and Bruce Power and its employees will continue to do our part during the holiday season,” says Hawthorne.
