Huron Warden Worries Parts of County Have Less Access to Paramedics
Huron County’s Warden expressed some concerns about the deployment of Advanced Care Paramedics in the county.
The issue came up at last weeks committee of the whole meeting and the discusion involved the fourteen ACPs that the county currently has in place.
Warden Joe Steffler took exception to the fact that the majority of their time was spent in the urban areas of the county, particularly Goderich, Clinton and Exeter.
Steffler maintains everyone in Huron County is entitled to the same service whether they live in an urban centre or a rural area.
Steffler also questioned whether Advance Care Paramedics really do much more than primary care paramedics.
Council has asked EMS staff to bring back a report on the effectiveness of Advance Care Paramedics.
