Wellington North Mayor Ray Tout bid farewell as he led his final meeting as head of council. He was defeated in the municipal election.
Tout - who was a one-term mayor - said his past four years in office was an opportunity to "live a dream."
He cited some of the past council’s accomplishments including reducing debt by about $4-million and increasing reserves by about $4-million.
He had particularly high praise for the Wellington North staff.
Tout says the new council should stay focused on attracting new business.
