Perth-Huron United Way Fundraising Sees Slow Start

The United Way Perth-Huron's Annual fundraising campaign is off to a slow start.

So far about $240,000 has been raised.

That's about 20 per cent of the $1.17-million goal.

It's also trailing behind last year's campaign total at this time by about $100,000.

Co-chair and Stratford Police Chief John Bates says lower than expected revenue from campaign events and lower work place campaign totals are to blame. He says without additional help, it will be tough to meet the goal.

Executive Director Ryan Erb is still confident things will turn around because of the very generous community, which has always come through in past challenges.

“Together we can get there," Erb. "Together we can ensure that those in our community who need it most, get the help United Way and its funded partners can deliver.”
