Huron Residents Can Stuff An Ambulance With Food

Huron County’s Emergency Medical Services will launch their second annual ‘stuff the truck’ campaign this Saturday.

Deputy Chief Jeff Horseman explains they’ll park an ambulance at one of the supermarkets in the county each Saturday for the month of November.

He says, “The public can talk to paramedics and get their hands on the equipment and see a little bit about what EMS does. And we will gather food donations at the same time. and we try to stuff the truck or stuff as much food in the back of the truck as we can.”

The food will then be delivered to the Huron County Food Distribution Centre to be delivered to the various food banks throughout the county.

An ambulance will be at Hansen’s Independent Grocers in Exeter this Saturday, Moore’s Foodland in Clinton on November 15th, Dean’s Valumart in Wingham on November 22nd, and Zehrs in Goderich on November 29th. The ambulances will be at each store from nine in the morning till three in the afternoon.

Horseman adds the first ‘stuff the truck’ campaign last year was very successful and they’re hoping to do even better this year.
