Upper Grand School Board Responds To Ottawa Shooting

Upper Grand District School Board have partnered with Linamar on a new educational program.

The Upper Grand District School Board is contacting students, staff and families in the wake of the Ottawa shooting.

A message from the board says everyone is shocked and saddened by the tragic events, and they their thoughts are focused on those affected, and the bravery of emergency personnel who responded.

The board stresses there is no local safety concern, but understands that events like this impact everyone.

They say children should be reassured that measures are in place to keep them safe.

Adults do not need to broach the subject with children, but be available if they have questions.

They should also limit the exposure of children to the media coverage of the crisis, which can be overwhelming.
