Suspect Arrested In Perth County Break-in

Perth County OPP have charged a North Middlesex man after investigating a break-in at a home early Tuesday north of Stratford.

Police were called by a resident on Line 37 after the homeowner discovered items from inside the residence were missing.

A bicycle was also stolen from the property.
Officers checked other residences in the area and spotted the stolen bicycle at a nearby unoccupied farm house.

It was discovered that the farmhouse had been forcibly entered and a male suspect and stolen property from the initial break-in were located inside the farmhouse as well as suspected marijuana.

Further investigation determined that a vehicle at a nearby residence had also been entered overnight and items from inside had been removed by the male suspect.

The 19-year-old North Middlesex man faces several charges including theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, break and enter and two counts of trespass by night and possession of marijuana.

He has been remanded in custody for a court appearance in Stratford, October 20th.
