Police Warn of Missing Boa Constrictor

Owen Sound police are warning residents there is a missing boa constrictor on the loose.

Yesterday morning, police were called to a home in the area of 11th Street West and 4th Avenue West. The owner of a four-year-old 6-foot-long red-tail boa constrictor reported the snake missing.

It was last seen early Saturday morning and escaped from its enclosure. It possibly slithered out an open ground floor window. A search of the residence was not successful. Neighbours have been warned about the missing snake.

Police say the snake is described as generally being docile and is not poisonous however parents of small children and pets should be alert.The snake is  yellowish in colour with dark patches that becoming increasingly red towards its tail. Police say it is not likely to survive the cold.
