Health Officials Prepare for Flu Season
Health officials in Midwestern Ontario are urging residents to get their free flu shot this fall.
The flu shot can protect anyone over six months of age from getting sick with the virus this winter
Influenza usually causes a cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, chills, muscle aches, headaches, fatigue, and loss of appetite.
The elderly, people with medical complications , and children between 6 months and five years old are at a higher risk of developing complications from the flu.
People who come in contact with high risk groups should also get the vaccine.
Flu shot clinics begin in Perth County Starting October 28th.
There is a flu shot clinic scheduled in Owen Sound at the health unit October 30th.
The Huron County Health Unit will hold community clinics for the general public on Wednesday, October 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Legion and Monday, November 3 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Seaforth Public School.
