Huron Kinloss Needs New Point Clark Well Site

Huron-Kinloss is facing the task of finding a new location for a municipal water well for Point Clark.

Council learned last night that Well Number 1 for Point Clark has to be abandoned. Ron Hopper of W.D. Hopper and Sons Ltd, of Seaforth explained to council that his company was called to the well one week ago because of a low flow. He concluded that the life of the well is over.

Council authorized him to shut the well down at a cost of $10,840.

Mayor Mitch Twolan said Huron-Kinloss will look at the options for where to drill a new well for Point Clark. A new well will cost approximately $57,000.
