Meaford Dementia Program

Meaford Museum and Meaford Hall are running a special program, Tuesday, for people in the community suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
The museum and Meaford Hall are hosting an A-D training session at Meaford Hall 9:00 a.m. until noon, September 9.
The museum’s program coordinator, Jody Seeley, says staff from the Alzheimer’s Society of Grey Bruce will be running the session.
These programs allow Alzheimer’s and dementia patients a chance to exchange ideas about art, artists, historical eras, local characters and local history.
They also allow those engaged many connections between personal stories and the world at large.
Seeley says, “It’s a program where the instructors use various forms of art and historical artifacts to establish a supportive environment for people living with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia.”
