Hundreds Still In The Dark Following Friday’s Storm

Hundreds of Grey-Bruce residents are still without power following Friday’s severe weather.
According to Hydro One, the more than 150 customers in the Owen Sound area can expect their hydro restored around 11pm tonight. The same goes for more than 230 residents in Sauble Beach and surrounding areas. Tara area residents can expect their hydro restored around 8pm this evening.
There is smaller scattered outages in the Markdale, Thornbury and Chatsworth area, restoration times range from 5pm-11pm tonight.
Friday’s severe weather caused scattered outage’s in Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and northern Wellington Counties.
At the height of the outage, around 5,000 customers in an area stretching north of Southampton to Sauble Beach were in the dark. It also covered a section of Owen Sound, with larger scattered outages in Meaford/Chatsworth area.
Power was also knocked out to another 4,000 customers in the Goderich area Friday, but that has since been restored.
